Two-man handsaw competition

The chips fly during the third full weekend in June every year in Encampment as loggers come from all over the country to compete for the title of Rocky Mountain Champion Lumberjack.  Using power saws, axes and hand saws, the men and women competitors cut down "trees", chop logs, and saw squared wood blocks in half, racing the clock for the fastest time.  Cowboys ride bulls and broncs and the melodrama encourages the audience to get involved.  This unique Wyoming event assure a good time to be had by all.  For more information: email  woodchoppersjamboree@yahoo.com or call the Encampment Town Hall at 307-327-5501 or Ron Harvey @ 970-210-2955

Grand Encampment Opera Company presents an old-fashioned melodrama, . All performances begin at 7 p.m.  at the historic Opera House (Town Hall) 622 Rankin, Encampment.  Admission is by donation at the door.

Saturday June 14

Woodchoppers Events -  Lions Club Arena in Encampment - 
Point Events include:  Tree Felling; Two-man Handsaw Tree Felling; Two-man handsaw; two-woman handsaw; Power saw log bucking; One-man handsaw; Man & Woman handsaw team; Choker setting; Axe Chopping; Pole Throw; Axe Throw; Power saw Log Bucking. 
Non-point events include: Power saw log bucking; Mad loggers chainsaw throw; medium class modified chainsaw.
Admission Fee - $7.00 per day (includes Woodchoppers Events and Rodeo), children under 12 free
